National Youth Day 2025 was celebrated with great enthusiasm at the Ramakrishna Mission Ashram, Bhubaneswar, on January 12, commemorating the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda. The day’s events commenced with a vibrant Prabhat Pheri (morning procession) around the Ashram campus and through the historic Old Town area. This lively procession saw active participation from monks, student delegates, and members of the local community, setting a spirited tone for the celebrations.
The main program took place in Vivekananda Hall, presided over by Swami Atmaprabhananda, the Secretary of the Ashram. The seminar featured an esteemed panel of guests. Sri Mohan Charan Majhi, the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Odisha, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Sri Pratap Chandra Sarangi, Hon’ble MP of Balasore, participated as the Guest of Honour, while Sri Babu Singh, the MLA of Ekamra Constituency, attended as the Special Guest. The speeches delivered by the distinguished guests, especially by Sri Pratap Chandra Sarangi, were profoundly inspiring.
The seminar also included insightful speeches by Swami Maheshatmananda, Assistant Secretary of the Ashram, and Sri Biswaranjan Satpathy, who shared valuable perspectives on Swami Vivekananda’s teachings and their relevance to today’s youth.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from approximately 450 attendees, primarily students. Participants were provided with tiffin, lunch, and a set of books and photographs of Swami Vivekananda, ensuring a memorable experience for all.
The program emphasized Swami Vivekananda’s vision of empowering youth with spiritual values and fostering a sense of national pride.
