National Youth Day 2025: Dehradun

Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Dehradun, celebrated National Youth Day on 12th January 2025 with a series of programs commemorating the 163rd birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda.

Key Activities:

  • Main Program at Ashrama:
    • The program at the Ashrama commenced at 10:00 AM with Vedic chanting and the lighting of the ceremonial lamp.
    • Swami Asimatmananda, Secretary, Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Dehradun, delivered the welcome address.
    • A diverse range of cultural programs were performed by students.
    • Dr. A. Shukla, Chief Guest from GEU University, delivered a keynote address on Swami Vivekananda’s life and teachings and their relevance to modern times.
    • Swami Ramarupanandaji, Adhyaksha, Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Shimla, delivered the presidential address, highlighting the importance of Swami Vivekananda’s teachings in the lives of students.
    • Swami Swaswarupananda delivered the vote of thanks, urging the youth to incorporate Swamiji’s ideals into their daily lives.
    • The program concluded with the chanting of the Swadesh Mantra and the National Anthem.
    • 200 students participated, and all attendees were served noon prasad.
  • Outreach Programs:
    • DIT University: Swami Asimatmananda delivered a lecture on Swami Vivekananda’s life and teachings to 3000 students on 11th January.
    • Swami Ram Himalayan University: Swami Bhitiharanandaji, Secretary, Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Chandigarh, addressed 325 students and teachers on Swami Vivekananda’s life and teachings.
    • ITITI Doon Sanskriti School: Swami Ramarupanandaji and Swami Swaswarupananda engaged with 150 students and teachers, discussing Swami Vivekananda’s life and teachings.
    • IMS Unison University: A comprehensive program was held, including lectures, panel discussions, and panel drawings on Swami Vivekananda’s life and teachings. Swami Ramarupanandaji, Sri Vinod Taneja, and Swami Swaswarupananda participated in the program.
    • Government Intermediate College, Roorkee: Swami Asimatmananda participated in an online program, addressing the students on Swami Vivekananda’s life and teachings.

Overall Impact:

The National Youth Day celebrations at Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Dehradun, were a resounding success. The diverse range of programs, reaching out to a wide audience of students, teachers, and the general public, effectively disseminated Swami Vivekananda’s message and inspired the youth to embrace his ideals.
