Ramakrishna Math, Gourhati, celebrated the 41st National Youth Day and the 163rd birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda on January 12, 2025, with a grand celebration. The entire podium and its surroundings were beautifully adorned with photographs of Swami Vivekananda, his inspiring messages, festoons, and flowers, creating a festive atmosphere.
The afternoon program commenced at 3:30 PM with a soulful Vedic chant performed by a group of students. This was followed by an uplifting inaugural song sung in chorus by the participants.
Adhyaksha Maharaj warmly welcomed all the students and encouraged them to listen attentively to the program. Then, as a mark of reverence, all present in the hall recited Swami Vivekananda’s “Swadesh Mantra.”
Several students delivered insightful speeches on Swami Vivekananda, the significance of National Youth Day, and the crucial role of youth in realizing the vision and mission of Swami Vivekananda. The program also included recitations and musical performances by other students.
Special Guest, Sisir Kumar Jana, a teacher, addressed the gathering, urging the students to emulate the ideals of Swami Vivekananda. Another guest speaker, Pranab Kumar Ghorui, emphasized the importance of character building in the lives of young people.
The program concluded with the soulful rendition of “Swamijir mantra mora bhulbo na” sung in chorus. Adhyaksha Maharaj expressed his gratitude to all participants.
A total of 80 youths participated in the program, and all were served with tiffin. The celebration was a resounding success, leaving a lasting impression on the young minds.
