Ramakrishna Mission, Kadapa, celebrated National Youth Day on Sunday, January 12, 2025, with a series of events that inspired and engaged the local community.
The celebrations commenced with a poignant tribute to Swami Vivekananda. Monastic members, along with local residents and our own students, offered flowers at the feet of Swami Vivekananda’s statues located at Shilparamam, SMT Township, and the Ashram campus.
Following this, a Youth Convention was held at the Ashram campus, attracting the participation of approximately 350 students and youth. The program featured insightful talks by eminent personalities, inspiring recitations of Swami Vivekananda’s speeches and quotations, and captivating cultural performances by students of Vivekananda Vidya Niketan.
A significant highlight of the day was the distribution of Merit Scholarships to 25 economically backward college students. Additionally, prizes were awarded to the winners of Essay Writing, Speech, and Elocution Competitions, which had been held earlier. A total of 50 students from 11 schools in Kadapa had participated in these competitions.
All participants were served a delicious lunch prasad at noon, concluding the day on a note of fellowship and inspiration.
