National Youth Day 2025: Kalady

The 163rd Swami Vivekananda Jayanthi was celebrated with great enthusiasm at the Sri Ramakrishna Advaita Ashram, Kalady, on January 12, 2025. This momentous occasion, honoring the life and teachings of Swami Vivekananda, was graced by the presence of Revered Srimat Swami Girishanandaji Maharaj, Global Vice-President of Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission, renowned writer Sri C. Radhakrishnan, and Sri K.V. Mohan Kumar IAS, former Director of Education, Kerala.

The celebrations commenced with a vibrant rally that snaked through the streets of Kalady, flagged off by Revered Srimat Swami Girishanandaji Maharaj. This was followed by a well-attended public meeting at the Agamananda Open Auditorium.

Smt. Usharani C.S., Principal In-Charge of BHSS, Kalady, extended a warm welcome to the gathering. Revered Swami Srividyanandaji Maharaj, Adhyaksha of the Ashram, delivered the presidential address, emphasizing the enduring relevance of Swami Vivekananda’s teachings for the youth of today.

Revered Srimat Swami Girishanandaji Maharaj underscored Swami Vivekananda’s profound message on education, emphasizing that it encompasses not only bookish knowledge but also character-building and man-making education. Sri C. Radhakrishnan and Chief Guest Sri K.V. Mohan Kumar IAS highlighted the profound significance of Swami Vivekananda’s life and message in inspiring youth towards self-realization and dedicated service to society.

The event also included the distribution of cash awards and certificates to the winners of the National Youth Day Competitions. Dignitaries, educators, and local officials shared their valuable insights with the audience.

Smt. Jessy Thomas, Headmistress of BJBS, Kalady, offered a heartfelt vote of thanks. The celebrations concluded with a captivating cultural program presented by talented students.

The event was a resounding success, serving as a vibrant tribute to the enduring legacy of Swami Vivekananda and his timeless message of service and self-realization.
