Ramakrishna Math, Koyilandy, celebrated National Youth Day on Sunday, January 12, 2025, at the Ashrama premises. The event was organized to commemorate the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda and to inspire the youth to live a life of service and spirituality. It was attended by 95 participants, including students from the 11th and 12th standards, along with their teachers, and some students from the Gadadhar Abhyudaya Prakalpa.
The celebration commenced at 9:30 a.m. with prayers and a brief session of guided meditation in the temple. Thereafter, all the students offered flowers at the feet of Swami Vivekananda’s portrait, which was placed just outside the temple. After this, the students assembled for the National Youth Day convention in the Ashrama auditorium.
The proceedings began with Vedic prayers and an opening song, followed by speeches and a prize distribution ceremony to honor the newly government-employed volunteers of Koyilandy Math with certificates and mementos. The two esteemed speakers were: Swami Narasimhanandaji Maharaj from Kozhikode Ramakrishna Mission Sevashrama and Mr. Sasi Kammateri, Director of Arsha Vidyapeedam. Both speakers delivered inspiring messages rooted in Swami Vivekananda’s teachings. They emphasized the importance of values in daily life and provided practical guidance to the students on embodying these values.
The programme concluded with a closing song, followed by the distribution of a sumptuous lunch prasad to all the participants, including students, teachers, and volunteers. The event was a resounding success, leaving a lasting impression on the young minds and inspiring them to strive for excellence in all spheres of life.
