The Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Krishnanagar, observed the National Youth Day and the Birth Anniversary of Swami Vivekananda on 12th January 2025 with great enthusiasm and reverence.

The celebrations commenced with a vibrant procession at 8:00 AM. Approximately 200 devotees and students from the Mission premises participated in the procession, which traversed through the town of Krishnanagar with the support of a police escort and a band party provided by the District Police Administration.

The procession included the ceremonial garlanding of Swami Vivekananda’s statues at Krishnanagar Municipality and Nedierpara More. Flags bearing inspiring messages of Swami Vivekananda were hoisted, and patriotic songs were sung along with the recitation of relevant portions of Swamiji’s works. Large cut-outs of Swami Vivekananda were prominently displayed throughout the procession. The procession concluded at 9:30 AM.

Following the procession, refreshments were provided to all participants, including coffee and tiffin packets. A short discussion on the life and teachings of Swami Vivekananda was then held at the Ashrama premises, concluding at 11:00 AM.

In addition to the main procession, several other programs were organized:

  • United Red Stars Club: Swami Mangaleshananda delivered a lecture to an audience of 50 students and guardians at the United Red Stars Club of Krishnanagar.
