Ramakrishna Advaita Ashrama, Kalady celebrated the National Youth Day on 12 January 2021. Although there was no execution of procession grandiosely by the students of our Brahmanandodayam School to Kalady town this year owing to the covid 19 pandemic, the centre conducted a very small procession of carrying Swami Vivekananda’s photos around our main temple. A small number of local devotees, teachers of our school and inmates of the ashrama participated in the procession led by Swami Akshyatmananda and other monastic brothers at 10 am. Prior to this, there was a small puja and arati performed to Swamiji’s photo decorated well on a wooden altar in front of ashram office. Panchavadyam (a traditional Kerala musical band) was performed on this occasion like every year during the procession. Swami Akshayatmananda addressed the public on the significance of celebrating the national youth day. Refreshment and a copy of Vivekananda literature were distributed to all at the end of the celebration.
