We record with sorrow the passing away of Swami Aghoranandaji (Subhash Maharaj), aged 78 years, at Medica Superspecialty Hospital, Kolkata, on 13 December at 7.30 am due to cardiac arrest.  A few days before he had tested positive for Covid-19.  Initiated by Swami Yatishwaranandaji Maharaj, he joined the order in 1966 at Belur Math and received sannyasa diksha from Swami Vireshwaranandaji Maharaj in 1976.  He was a homeopathic physician and served at Belur Math dispensary and at Silchar, Taki and Baranagar Math centres.  He had an excellent track record of treating patients, and people from far and wide would go to him seeking medical advice.  Besides, many homoeopaths kept regular contact with him to learn from his long experience in the subject.  He was austere and serious by nature.
