The first unit of the Gadadhar Abhyudaya Prakalpa (GAP) was inaugurated on the auspicious occasion of Buddha Purnima, 12 May 2025, at Mahur, Dima Hasao district. This project is dedicated to the holistic development of underprivileged children.
The programme began with the offering of flowers to Swamiji, lighting of the lamp, Vedic chanting, and an opening song by students of Ramakrishna Mission Students’ Home, Haflong.
Swami Amiteshananda, Secretary of the centre, delivered the welcome address, explaining the objectives of the project.
Swami Atmalokananda, President, Ramakrishna Society Vedanta Centre, Moscow, and Sri Raghuraj Baidya, Additional District Commissioner, addressed the audience with inspiring words.
Swami Achyuteshananda, Trustee, Ramakrishna Math & Mission and Secretary, Ramakrishna Mission, Narottamnagar, delivered the Presidential Address.
The programme concluded with the recitation of Swamiji’s Swadesh Mantra and distribution of tiffin.
A total of 125 people participated, including monks, GAP children, parents, teachers, government officials, local devotees, and well-wishers.
