A special programme for the promotion of the Sanskrit language was held on 1st December 2023 at Ramakrishna Mission Vidyapith, Deoghar, as a part of the commemoration of the 125th Anniversary of the Ramakrishna Mission. This programme was attended by an audience of 600 people including the Vidyapith students, teachers, monastic and staff members.
The programme began with an educational seminar on the topic “Sanskrit Today: Bridging Past and Present”. The invited speakers for this seminar were Swami Atmashraddhananda, Swami Japasiddhananda and Swami Vedarthananda.
To demonstrate the significance of Vidyarthi Vrata mantras in modern times, one video documentary “प्राप्य वरान् निबोधत” has been produced, which had the inaugural screening in the 2nd session.
In the evening, there was a cultural function performed by the students of Vidyapith. A Sanskrit Drama “भगवान् नरसिंहः” was presented by them along with other items which were appreciated by all.
One booklet with the title “संस्कृतरत्नमालिका – Riviere of Sanskrit” was also published to introduce Sanskrit literature to the younger generation. The book has been compiled by Br. Vanichaitanya (Ayan) of Deoghar Ashram.
On this occasion, 4 Sanskrit teachers of Vidyapith were felicitated for their contributions to popularise Sanskrit language among students.
