Relief Activities: Varanasi, June 2025

During June 2025, Vivek Sanjivani, an initiative of Ramakrishna Mission Home of Service, Varanasi, extended compassionate support across the underserved regions of Mirzapur, Azamgarh, and Sonbhadra. The programme focused on two primary areas:

• Providing nutrition and healthcare for patients with chronic illnesses
• Supporting underprivileged children with nutrition and educational materials

I. Healthcare Support for Patients with Chronic Illnesses

Essential food and medical supplies were provided to patients suffering from diabetes (DM), hypertension (HTN), severe mental disorders (SMD), epilepsy, and orthopaedic conditions.

  • 66 patients received 66 kg Daliya
• Gaura Village, Mirzapur
  Dates: 19 & 23 June
  • 101 patients received 101 kg Daliya
• Patewar Village, Mirzapur
  Date: 23 June
  • 33 patients received 33 kg Daliya
    Date: 27 June
  • 11 orthopaedic/diabetes patients received 11 hot water bags
• Hinauta Village, Sonbhadra
  Date: 28 June
  • 10 orthopaedic/diabetes patients received 10 hot water bags

II. Education and Nutrition Support for Children

Educational materials, nutrition, and hygiene items were distributed to support underprivileged children.

Lalganj Village, Azamgarh – 21 June
Beneficiaries: 50 children
Items distributed:

• 35 kg Daliya, 10 kg Gram, 20 kg Flattened Rice, 3 kg Groundnut
• 5 L Edible Oil, 40 L Milk, 9 kg Sweets, 18 kg Dry Fruits
• 52 Biscuit Packets, 2 kg Horlicks
• 50 each of Hindi, English & Math notebooks, pencils, hair oil
• 52 soaps, 10 sets of colour sketch pens

Rampur Village, Mirzapur – 26 June
Beneficiaries: 42 children
Items distributed:

• 25 kg Daliya, 8 kg Gram, 15 kg Flattened Rice, 2 kg Groundnut
• 3 L Edible Oil, 24 L Milk, 5.5 kg Sweets, 11 kg Dry Fruits
• 36 Biscuit Packets, 1 kg Horlicks
