Relief Services : A Brief Report As On 1 May 2019


FIRE RELIEF

Arunachal Pradesh: In a fire incident at Deomali Township in Tirap district on 26 March, four houses were completely burned down.  Narottam Nagar centre distributed 8 blankets, 7 shirts, 19 trousers, 12 sweatshirts and 7 belts among the affected families on 31 March.

 

West Bengal: In response to a fire at a slum in Dakshineshwar, Kolkata, on 16 March, Baranagar Mission centre distributed 34 saris and an equal number of plates, bowls, tumblers, mosquito-nets and bed covers among 34 affected families on 6 April.


CYCLONE RELIEF

Bangladesh: A cyclonic storm hit Khulna district in Bangladesh on 9 April.  In response to the calamity, Bagerhat centre distributed 1000 kg rice, 100 saris and 100 lungis among 100 families on 16 April.


FLOOD REHABILITATION

Kerala: In the aftermath of the floods that had hit Kerala in the month of August, Tiruvalla centre helped victims to rebuild their 3 houses as well as repair and renovate 11 houses in Pathanamthitta and Alappuzha districts from 15 October to 8 March.


WINTER RELIEF

Winter Relief : Khetri

This year, 63,344 blankets and 1,53,176 winter garments are being distributed among the poor and needy people, through 122 of our branch centres in different parts of the country.

DISTRESS RELIEF

Distress Relief : RKMVERI

To extend a helping hand to poor and needy people, 17 of our centres in different parts of the country have distributed 100 dhotis, 100 uttariyas, 26,682 shirts, 2601 T-shirts, 19,777 trousers, 117 saris, 3407 tops, 563 assorted ladies’ garments, 582 blankets, 25,989 sweaters, 1475 sweatshirts, 2877 jackets, 14 blazers, 3 shawls, 1 coat, 222 school bags, 9 raincoats and 9 aprons among poor and needy people during the month of April.
