Disturbance Relief: Manipur: Continuing its relief operations for the victims of ethnic clashes which began in May, Imphal centre distributed the following items from 1 to 27 September in 5 relief camps in Imphal West and Bishnupur districts sheltering 945 people from 316 families: 3 kg pulses, 60 kg black grams, 35 kg soya chunks, 24 litres cooking oil, 10 kg assorted spices, 3 kg dry chillies, 820 packets of biscuits, 6 kg Horlicks, 27 kg infant milk, 60 kg milk powder, 3 kg tea powder, 36 steel glasses, 200 tubes of toothpaste, 24 toothbrushes, 168 bars of bathing soap, 8 kg detergent powder, 240 sachets of shampoo, 132 bottles of hair oil, 120 blankets, 1140 notebooks, 290 pens, 240 pencils, 190 crayons, 140 pencil sharpeners, 120 erasers, 2 weaving looms, 2 footballs, 2 flying discs, 3 skipping ropes and 3 badminton sets.


Flood Relief: Himachal Pradesh: In continuation of its relief operations among the people affected by floods and landslides, Shimla centre distributed 255 kg rice, 255 kg wheat flour, 101 kg pulses, 29 litres cooking oil, 34 kg salt, 11 kg assorted spices, 61 kg sugar, 10 kg tea powder, 17 sets of rolling boards and pins, 17 pressure cookers, 85 plates, 85 tumblers, 34 spoons, 17 knives, 102 items of assorted cookware, 10 tubes of toothpaste, 30 toothbrushes, 17 bars of bathing soap, 17 bars of washing soap, 17 kg detergent powder, 17 buckets, 17 mugs, 15 mattresses, 30 bedsheets, 15 blankets and 3 tarpaulins among 17 families in Shimla, Solan and Bilaspur districts in September.


Distress Relief: The following centres distributed items shown against their names to needy people:

India:

  • Kasundia, Howrah: 50 saris, 50 dhotis and 50 lungis on 26 September.
  • Krishnanagar: 175 plates of food, 128 kg assorted fruits, 25 kg sweetmeat, 19 kg glucose, 190 packets of biscuits and 60 towels from 13 April to 28 August.
  • Davanagere: 693 notebooks, 55 pens, 55 pencils and 6 geometry boxes on 22 September.
  • Dibrugarh: 133 plates of food, 133 T-shirts and 133 dhotis on 16 September.
  • Digboi: 30 kg assorted fruits on 27 September.
  • Indore: 546 school bags, 36 geometry boxes, 552 water bottles, 22 plastic carpets, 17 water jars, 25 plates and 5 other items of cookware on 8 and 9 August.
  • Venkatapura: 82 sets of school uniforms on 16 September.

 

Bangladesh: Bagerhat: 105 kg rice, 15 kg pulses, 90 kg potatoes, 6 kg onions, 6 litres cooking oil, 6 kg salt, 3 kg dry chillies,  60 dhotis, 16 uttariyas, 10 lungis and 19 saris on 14 and 15 September.

 

Fiji: An electric mobility scooter, a wheelie walker, a pair of elbow crutches, 3 dual crutches, 50 assorted garments and 9 hospital beds with mattresses from 1 May to 25 September.

 

South Africa: (a) Durban: 509 plates of food, 426 kg rice, 30 kg wheat flour, 265 kg maize meal, 480 kg pulses, 145 kg porridge, 206 litres cooking oil, 135 kg salt, 175 cans of jam, 30 bottles of tomato sauce, 300 cans of tinned food, 53 litres fruit juice, 19,620 tea bags, 145 litres milk, 161 kg sugar, 180 candles, 15 blankets, 30 tubes of toothpaste and 190 bars of washing soap in September.

(b) Phoenix: 1400 kg rice, 160 kg fortified cereals, 200 kg maize meal, 60 kg wheat flour, 170 kg pasta, 118 kg porridge, 850 kg pulses, 55 kg soya chunks, 1647 kg assorted vegetables, 70 kg assorted spices, 230 kg salt, 710 litres cooking oil, 500  cans of tinned food, 45 kg soup powder, 5600 breakfast cereal sachets, 2460 packets of biscuits, 150 cakes, 20 kg semolina, 477 kg snacks, 300 litres fruit juice, 97 kg sweetmeat, 500 loaves of bread, 800 bars of peanut chikki, 550 kg assorted fruits, 15 kg Horlicks, 15 kg Boost, 198 litres flavoured milk, 550 litres milk, 26,000 tea bags, 280 kg sugar, 240 matchboxes, 3 sets of crockery, cutlery and cooking utensils, 15 litres sanitizer, 360 bars of bathing soap, 160 bars of washing soap, 49 kg detergent powder, 20 litres detergent liquid, 132 tubes of toothpaste, 72 toothbrushes, 640 adult napkins, 100 assorted garments, 16 assorted bedding items, 6 blankets, 300 educational toys, 3 solar panels with LED lights, 2 wheelchairs, 1 rainwater harvesting tank and 20,061 metres cloth in September.

Sri Lanka: Batticaloa (a sub-centre of Colombo branch): 1623 notebooks and 541 assorted stationery items on 14 September.


Economic Rehabilitation: India: West Bengal: Gurap centre distributed 4 sewing machines to as many poor women in Gurap on 7 September.


Infrastructural Support: India: Madhya Pradesh: Indore centre gave 5 metal trunks, 2 tables, 5 water purifiers, 3 Bluetooth speakers and 4 ceiling fans to ten schools in Khargone district on 8 and 9 August.

Fiji: Fiji centre handed over a CBG monitoring machine, a vital monitor cuff and 100 pairs of latex gloves to two hospitals in Fiji between 1 May and 25 September.
