Flood Relief
Himachal Pradesh: Heavy rainfall and cloudbursts triggered devastating flash floods and landslides across several regions of Himachal Pradesh, resulting in significant loss of life and property. In response, Shimla centre provided relief to 500 families in Mandi district by distributing 500 tarpaulins, 500 solar lanterns with panels, and 1000 pairs of gumboots among them from 23 to 26 July.
Distress Relief
The following centres distributed various items, as detailed below:
India:
Coimbatore Mission: 160 kg rice, 8 kg pulses, 60 kg nutrition powder, 800 g tea powder, 12 kg sugar and 8 litres kerosene oil from 29 June to 20 July.
Dakshineshwar, Kolkata: Provision kits to 10 widows on 27 June. Each kit contained 10 kg rice, 1 kg pulses, 500 g peas, 300 g soya chunks, 200 g sattu (roasted gram flour), 500 g semolina, 2 litres cooking oil, 150 g spices, 1 kg salt, a packet of biscuits, a packet of sweets, a tube of toothpaste, a bar of bathing soap, a shopping bag and an umbrella.
Gwalior: 25 meals on 1 July.
Hatamuniguda: 100 litres flavoured drink, 100 kg energy drink powder, 200 toothbrushes, 200 bottles of hair oil and 100 water bottles on 24 July.
Kalyani: 50 saris on 27 July.

Kanchipuram: 366 meals, 570 kg rice, 29 kg pulses, 23 litres cooking oil, 17 kg assorted spices, 29 kg tamarind, 114 kg salt, 114 packets of biscuits, 110 mangoes and 114 bars of soap from 1 to 29 June.
Madurai: Provision kits to 147 eye patients on 15 June and 22 July. Each kit contained 1 kg semolina, 1 kg pulses, 1 litre cooking oil, 200 g chilli powder, 500 g sambar powder, 500 g tamarind, 1 kg sugar and a bar of bathing soap.
Nabadwip: Provision kits to 20 needy students on 6 July. Each kit contained 4 kg rice, 1 kg flour, 1.5 kg pulses, 2 litre cooking oil, 200 g soya chunks, 500 g muri (puffed rice), 500 g salt, 50 g spices, 1 litre fruit juice, 200 g noodles, 100 ml hair oil, a bar of bathing soap and 500 g detergent powder.
Twenty provision kits and 20 saris to as many widows on 20 July. Each kit contained 1 kg flour, 3 kg pulses, 200 g soya chunks, 2 litre cooking oil, 500 g salt, 50 g spices, 1 kg chira (rice flakes), 500 g muri, 2 packets of biscuits, 1 litre fruit juice, 100 ml hair oil, a bar of bathing soap and 500 g detergent powder.
Nattarampalli: 162 kg pulses, 101 litres cooking oil, 35 kg assorted spices, 101 kg salt, 10 kg tea powder, 101 kg sugar, 101 packets of biscuits and 101 bottles of hair oil on 22 July.
Rajarhat Bishnupur, Kolkata: 6 kg chira, 5 kg muri, 6 kg khoi (parched paddy), 13 kg sugar and 25 packets of biscuits on 29 June.
Thirumukkudal: Essential provisions to 101 persons with intellectual disability on 12 July. Each kit contained 5 kg rice, 1.5 kg pulses, 500 ml cooking oil, 400 g assorted spices, 1 kg salt, a bar of bathing soap and a bar of laundry soap.
Varanasi Home of Service: 384 kg dalia (wheat groats), 35 kg chira, 18 kg gram, 5 kg groundnuts, 8 litres cooking oil, 64 litres milk, 3 kg malt drink mix, 29 kg dry fruits, 88 packets of biscuits, 15 kg sweets, 52 bars of bathing soap, 50 bottles of hair oil and 21 hot water bags from 3 to 28 June.
Viveknagar, Agartala: 1380 food packets to footpath dwellers from 27 June to 20 July.
Bangladesh: Bagerhat: 80 saris, 10 T-shirts and 20 kurtas on 10 July.

TB Patients’ Relief
Kerala: Kalady centre distributed nutrition kits to 10 local TB patients on 28 July. Each kit contained 1 kg oats, 1 kg pulses, 500 g soya chunks, 500 g groundnuts, 500 g malt drink mix, 500 g dates and 2 bars of bathing soap.
Flood Rehabilitation
Assam: Heavy rainfall and storms destroyed several houses in Sribhumi district in June. In response to the calamity, Sribhumi centre provided 880 corrugated tin sheets and 104 riggings to 55 affected families on 28 July to help them repair the roofs of their houses.
Economic Rehabilitation
Tamil Nadu: Thanjavur Math provided a pushcart to an elderly lady in Thanjavur on 13 June to help her earn her livelihood.
