Relief Services: Jhargram, August – September 2021


Ramakrishna Mission Jhargram conducted distress Relief and Flood Relief Services in August and September 2021.

Clothes Distribution:

(i)                 272 shirts, 252 tops for girls, 262 blankets were distributed to needy people from the ashrama campus from 10 to 12 August 2021.

(ii)              144 pieces each of sarees, lungis, mosquito nets and blankets were distributed to 144 families belonging to the Sabar community (classified as Primitive Tribal Group) at Auligeria and Ghitakham villages on  11 September 2021.

(iii)            175 sarees, 183 shirts, 162 lungis and 175 blankets were distributed to 175 families belonging to nine villages of Saltoria 11 Block on 13 September 2021.

(iv)            80 pieces each of sarees, shirts and blankets were distributed to 80 families residing at Vat tala, Jhargram on 18 September 2021.

To summarize, 535 shirts, 252 tops, 399 sarees, 306 lungis, 661 blankets, 144 mosquito nets were distributed to needy and poor people in the locality.

Flood Relief:

(i)                Cooked food was served to 150 persons on 15 September at Ward 1, Jhargram; to 20 persons at Jungle Khas, Jhargram on 21 September and to 500 persons at Salboni and Koima villages on 22 September 2021.

(ii)              36 plastic sheets were distributed at Salboni village on 22 September to those whose mud houses were damaged due to incessant rains.
