On the occasion of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, celebrating theĀ 75 years of the Independence of India, a seminar was conducted on Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan, a vision to make India Drug Free, on International Anti-Drug Day (26th June 2022) for the students of Brahmanandodayam School of the Kalady ashrama, to strengthen actions and awareness to make society free of drug abuse. In this seminar 610 students participated, from the upper primary and high school.
Sri Arun K Pavithran (IPS) inaugurated the program and provided the keynote address. He emphasized the need and importance of awareness programs, especially among the school students against the use of narcotics. The benedictory address was given by Swami Ishananda, who spoke on the importance of awareness and how spirituality helps a person to get rid of bad habits and to avoid the use of drugs. Sri P V Sajeev (Ward Member), Sri Rajeev Ettikkara (PTA Member), and Smt. Mini S (Head-Mistress BSUPS) was present. All students took an oath against narcotics use.
