Ramakrishna Mission, Vijayawada at its Sitanagaram premises took up free service activities like accommodation for pilgrims, distribution of food, buttermilk and milk for children during the Krishna Pushkarams from 12 to 23 August 2016. A small shrine was also setup in the premises. Volunteers and devotees from private centres, college students, teaching and non-teaching staff and students of our school came forward to render their services.
Besides the above-mentioned services, cultural programmes like Burra-Katha, devotional music and films, Vedic chanting, religious discourses by monks and devotees were also organized. Swamis Medhananda Puri of Kailash Ashram, Rishikesh, Sukritananda, Achintyananda, Ishapremananda of Ramakrishna Mission, Kadapa, Swami Anupamananda of Ramakrishna Mission, Tirupati, Swami Kapalishananda of Ramakrishna Math and Mission, Rajahmundry, Dr. Shyama Sundar Murthy of Guntur, Sri Chandrashekhar Gupta of Kadiri, Smt. Dr. Mangamma of Kurnool addressed the devotees.
RO-filtered drinking water was provided in our premises to all the pilgrims. Same was used for preparing buttermilk also. Ramakrishna-Vivekananda literature was on display, and thousands of copies were sold during the celebration.
