To mark the 125th foundation year of Ramakrishna Mission, our Jalpaiguri centre has organized a 15 days long Shashwata-Bharata Ratha Yatra at various places of North Bengal and Assam. In this Ratha Yatra, many programmes have been conducted with the cooperation of 15 Bhava-Prachara Parishad Ashrams and 64 educational institutions, and 8 other organizations.
The 15 days Ratha Yatra started on 6 December 2023, and covered 791 km in Alipurduar, Cooch Behar districts of West Bengal, and Kokhrajhar, Chirang, Dhubari and Bongaigaon districts of Assam.
In 30 places cultural programmes were organized —
- In West Bengal – Tufanganj, Choupathy, Kamarpatti, Kalibarhi, Barobhisa, Khoardanga, Kamakshaguri and Alipurduar
- In Assam – Golakganj, Dhubari, Gouripur, Bilasipara, Gouripur, Irkabari, Bijani, Bishnupur, Bongaigaon, Kokrajhar, Fakiragram, Sapatgram
Total 6555 students and youths, and 10701 devotees and admirers, participated in the programmes. Apart from 31 reception programmes and 14 processions, 2o youth conventions and 19 devotees conventions were held.
Total 1853 books, on Swami Vivekananda’s life and teachings, and on Sister Nivedita, were distributed to the students. Apart from books 12000 photos of Holy trio and 12000 photos of Swami Vivekananda were distributed.
The Shashwata-Bharata Ratha Yatra ended on 20 December 2023.
