On 10th August, 2024, Ramakrishna Advaita Ashrama, Kalady hosted a spiritual retreat. Swami Akshayatmananda, Swami Kritajnananda, and Swami Brahmaparananda gave talks.
Swami Akshayatmananda discussed Sri Ramakrishna’s Upanayanam, where he chose to take his first Bhiksha from a woman of a lower caste, emphasizing the divinity in all humans, regardless of social status.
Swami Kritajnananda explored the teachings of Holy Mother Sarada Devi, explaining that she embodies divine compassion, guiding people across the ocean of worldly attachments.
Swami Brahmaparananda linked the seven chapters of the Ramayana to the stages of life, highlighting the values and spiritual growth each chapter represents.
The retreat concluded with guided meditation followed by chanting of Sri Ramakrishna ‘Ashtotharasathanamavali’ (108 names of Sri Ramakrishna) and chorus of “Ramakrishna Saranam,” Ended the programme with the distribution of Noon Prasadam to all.
