As part of its ongoing welfare services, Ramakrishna Math, Koyilandy successfully conducted six phases of study material distribution in June 2025 to support underprivileged tribal students in Kerala.
Phase I – 14 June 2025
Held at Vivekananda Tribal School, Wayanad district, this phase reached 135 tribal students from Classes IV to X. Each student received:
- School bag
- Umbrella
- Geometry box
- Two pens
- Eight notebooks (ruled and unruled)
These students, many of whom were displaced due to last year’s landslides, are currently sheltered and educated by the school. The distribution brought joy and encouragement to the children.
Phase II – 22 June 2025
Conducted across three tribal villages — Alanchery, Nidumpoil, and Vengad in Kannur district, this phase benefited 100 tribal students studying in government schools.
This initiative was sponsored by employees of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), with several TCS volunteers personally participating in the distribution.
Phases III to VI – 24 to 29 June 2025
These phases extended support to nine different schools in the Kozhikode district, benefiting a total of 435 students. Study kits similar to earlier phases were distributed.
