Ramakrishna Math in Halasuru, Bengaluru, organized a fifteen-day summer camp for students from April 28th to May 12th, 2024. Around 74 students from grades 5 to 10 participated in the program.
Enriching Activities and Learning
The camp curriculum offered a variety of engaging activities designed to nurture the students’ minds and spirits:
- Meditation and Chanting: Techniques for guided meditation and chanting of hymns (Bhajans) were taught.
- Patriotic Songs and Cultural Appreciation: Students learned and sang patriotic songs, fostering a sense of love for their country.
- Art and Craft Exploration: The camp provided opportunities for creative expression through art and craft activities.
- Life Lessons and Values: Interactive sessions explored valuable life lessons and instilled ethical principles.
- Yoga and Physical Activity: Yoga practices were incorporated to promote physical well-being.
- Indian Culture and Saints’ Stories: Students gained insights into Indian culture and the lives of inspiring saints.
Culminating Celebration
The camp concluded with a special ceremony where students performed the ‘Vidyarthi Homa,’ a symbolic fire ritual. Additionally, all students participated in a heartwarming ‘Matri-Pitri Puja,’ offering prayers and expressing gratitude to their parents with slokas (verses) and garlands.
