Ramakrishna Mission, Porbandar, conducted Bal Sanskar Shibir (Summer camp) from 3/5/2023 to 27/5/2023. The concluding function was held on 28 May 2023. Shri Pujabhai Modhvadia was the chief guest. Ved Path, bhajans, value education classes, storytelling paper cutting, drawing, cultural heritage dance, drama, games, and Vedic Mathematics were taught to children by our teachers.
On the last day, a cultural program was organized. Children enacted different characters of the Swadesh mantra, other cultural dances, yoga, etc. ‘The Cup’, a poem by Swamiji, was recited by a student. The children enacted a drama from one of Swamiji’s favourite stories, about a golden mongoose which turned half golden by rolling over on some leftover flour in the house of a Brahmin, who sacrificed his life to feed a stranger. It was a story depicting unselfish karma & the glory of sacrifice. Children spoke on the life and teachings of the Holy Trio, Nivedita. After the program, all the children were given gifts of books & snacks.
