To spread the life and message of Swami Vivekananda among the younger generation, Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Jhargram, organized a school-level cultural competition for the students of Classes V to XII in the Jhargram district.
The following competitions were conducted during August-September 2023:
- An Essay Competition on “Swami Vivekananda’s Message to the Youths” in 1000 words (For students of classes IX to XII)
- Painting competition on “Chicago Pose of Swami Vivekananda” (For students of classes V to VIII)
- Poetry writing competition on “Amar Sonar Bangla” (For students of classes V to VIII)
- Elocution Competition on “Swami Vivekananda as a Poet” (For students of classes IX to XII)
1448 students from 68 schools participated in the competitions.
The Elocution competition was conducted at Gopi-I and Nayagram blocks on 8th & 9th September 2023 respectively.
The Prize Distribution ceremony for the winners of the above competitions was held at the Ramakrishna Mission Vidyamandira (EMRS), Jhargram on Monday 11 September 2023. Top 5 winners in each category received the prizes.
Swami Krishnanathananda, Editor, Udbodhan Patrika and Sri Sakti Prasad Mishra, Head of Nivedita Chair, Centre of Indological Studies and Research, Ramakrishna Mission Institute of Culture, Gol Park, Kolkata gave away the prizes to the students.
