Full day Symposia on ‘Personality Development – Vivekananda Way’ were successfully conducted for college students in four colleges (three in Narsapur, West Godavari district and one in Vijayawada) during January – February 2018 by Ramakrishna Mission, Vijayawada. About 300 students participated in each Symposium. Swami Sevyananda & Swami Sannivasananda of Ramakrishna Mission, Vijayawada; Sri A. Natarajan, Secretary, Ramakrishna Seva Samiti, Bapatla and Smt. S. Sita Smita, Associate Professor, Sri YN College, Narsapur addressed the
students followed by panel discussions.
Apart from these, a full day Symposium was conducted on 5 February 2018 at Vivekananda Vidya Vihar, Ramakrishna Mission, Sitanangaram in connection with the Foundation Day Celebrations of Ramakrishna Mission, Vijayawada. Revered Swami Tattwarupanandaji Maharaj, Adhyaksha, Ramakrishna Math, Ulsoor and Dr. KS Ratnakar, Director, Global Hospitals, Hyderabad addressed the students followed by panel discussions. 300 students from four different colleges participated in the Symposium.
After going through the book ‘Personality Development’, a compilation of Swami Vivekananda’s thoughts on the subject published by Advaita Ashrama and supplied by us, participants submitted write-ups based on the book. 20 best write-ups were selected for each symposium and the selected participants were invited to give a short talk on the subject. Based on the write-up and the talk, prize winners were selected.
Prizes worth Rs.27,000/- consisting of books and cash were distributed among the winners in each symposium.
Participants involved deeply in the panel discussions and they were very enthusiastic. They felt that such symposia should be conducted often to spread Swamiji’s ideas.
