Ramakrishna Mission Students’ Home, Chennai, has constructed 10 huts as temporary dwelling units, for Irula tribal families in Alapakkam village, Chengalpattu district, Tamil Nadu. Each huts are of size 12 feet x 12 feet area, bamboo structure and coconut leaves for the roof and hut walls with 2 feet height brick wall on all four sides of the hut, cement flooring and a door.
Another 10 huts are under construction. The centre will construct another 16 huts for the Irula tribal families.
