Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Asansol successfully conducted two tree plantation drives in August 2024, in collaboration with Bankola Area, ECL. These initiatives aimed to enhance environmental sustainability and increase green cover in the community.
Drive 1: School Involvement
On August 20, students from classes IX and X at the Ashrama’s school participated in a tree plantation drive. Approximately 200 students, teachers, and monastic members planted 550 saplings of various species, including Sal, Segun, Mehogini, Gamari, Simul, Palas, and Jhau.
Drive 2: ITI & VTC Collaboration
On August 28, the Ashrama partnered with Bankola Area, ECL, to organize another tree plantation drive at its ITI premises. Students from the ITI and VTC, along with teachers and monastic members, planted 200 saplings of the same species.
Both drives contributed to a greener, healthier environment and a more sustainable campus for the community.
