On September 11, 2024, the Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Chennai commemorated the 131st anniversary of Swami Vivekananda’s historic Chicago Addresses at the Parliament of Religions in 1893. This event, known as “Sampriti Divas” or Universal Brotherhood Day, was celebrated across all four of the Ashrama’s schools.
The celebrations included various activities such as reading Swami Vivekananda’s Chicago Addresses in both English and Tamil, a Swamiji Sayings and Drawing Competition, an Elocution Competition, an Essay Writing Competition, and an exhibition showcasing Swami Vivekananda’s life and message.
Swami Shravanananda, Swami Guruvarananda, Swami Mahakshananda, and Swami Suddhabrahmananda participated in the celebrations at all four schools, inspiring students and fostering a spirit of universal brotherhood.
