To mark the 131st anniversary of Swami Vivekananda’s historic address at the Parliament of Religions in Chicago on September 11th, Ramakrishna Mission Students’ Home, Chennai organized a series of events. These events included literary and oratorical competitions for both Residential High School and Polytechnic College students.
A total of 663 students and 20 teachers from both institutions participated in the various competitions. Fifty-one prizes were awarded to the top five winners in each competition.
The prize distribution ceremony was held at the Vivekananda Auditorium on September 11th morning. Sri C. Shanmugavel, former principal, was the chief guest. Monks, the headmaster, and the principal of the institution addressed the gathering, emphasizing Swami Vivekananda’s message of universal brotherhood.
