Ramakrishna Math, Hyderabad, organized a youth seminar on September 11, the 131st anniversary of Swami Vivekananda’s historic Chicago addresses, on its campus. Revered Swami Suhitananda ji Maharaj, Vice President, Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission, Belur Math blessed the occasion with a thoughtful benedictory address. This was followed by two powerful talks by Sri V Srinivas, MD of Illumine Knowledge Resources, Mumbai, and Sri Sharad Vivek Sagar of Dexterity Global, Patna. Recitation of Swami Vivekananda’s teachings by the students of VIHE was one of the highlights, followed by a yoga asanas demonstration by the yoga shibir students. Approximately 1,300 youths and devotees participated in the seminar. All were served with lunch prasada, a brochure of the Chicago addresses, a booklet of Swami Vivekananda’s teachings, and a participation certificate.
At 3:30 PM on September 11, a garlanding ceremony of Swami Vivekananda’s statue was held on Tank Bund, 2 kilometers from the Math. Revered Vice President Maharaj garlanded the statue, performed arati, and gave a short benedictory address. The first address of Swami Vivekananda was read out both in English and Telugu for the benefit of the hundreds of students who assembled to pay their tribute to Swami Vivekananda. A Sampriti Divas walk from Tank Bund to the Ramakrishna Math was organized to mark the occasion. Approximately 500 students, devotees, and the general public participated in the walk.
