Unveiling of Swami Vivekananda Statue in Porter Town Hall, Kumbakonam


Ramakrishna Math, Thanjavur unveiled a 7 feet bronze statue of Swami Vivekananda at the Porter Town Hall in Kumbakonam where Swamiji delivered the lecture ‘The Mission of Vedanta’ on February 3, 4, 5, 1897.

Ramakrishna Math, Thanjavur with the support of the Porter Town Hall conducted 3-day programs from 13 – 15 August. Top officials in all government departments and almost 3500 youths participated in these programs. Various cultural and traditional martial arts were conducted during the three days. Swami Gautamananda ji gave the benediction address online. Dharumapuram Aadheenam, 27th Gurumahasannithanam Sri-la-Sri Masillamani Desiga Gnanasambanda Paramacharya Swamigal. Dr. Sakkottai G. Anbalagan presided over the meeting. Swami Atmaghanananda unveiled the statue. Special Guest: Hon’ble Justice G. R. Swaminathan, High court of Madras.
