Valedictory Ceremony of DGR Resettlement Training Course: Morabadi, Ranchi, June 2025

On 20th June 2025, the valedictory ceremony of the Skill Development Training Programme for Ex-Servicemen, sponsored by the Directorate General Resettlement (DGR), Ministry of Defence, Government of India, was organized under the aegis of Divyayan Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Morabadi, Ranchi.

The programme began at 10:30 a.m. with Vedic chanting and lighting of the ceremonial lamp by the Chief Guest, Hon’ble Minister of State for Defence, Government of India, Shri Sanjay Seth; Brigadier Soumya Banerjee; Brigadier Niranjan Kumar (Retd.), former Director; Swami Bhaveshananda, Secretary, and Swami Antarananda, Joint Secretary, Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Ranchi. Swami Bhaveshananda welcomed all the dignitaries with traditional angavastra and floral bouquets.

In his address, Chief Guest Shri Sanjay Seth highlighted the significant role of ex-servicemen in national defense and called upon them to continue contributing to nation-building even after retirement. He encouraged them to take up organic beekeeping and other agribusiness ventures by establishing links with KVIC (Khadi and Village Industries Commission).

Guest of Honour, Brigadier Soumya Banerjee, lauded the efforts of DGR and Divyayan KVK in successfully organizing such skill development training and emphasized the vital role ex-servicemen can play in the progress of villages, society, and the nation.

Swami Bhaveshananda, in his welcome address, urged the trainees to dedicate themselves to building a self-reliant and prosperous India. He emphasized that the training would enable ex-servicemen to make meaningful contributions to the nation’s GDP and overall development.

Dr. Bharat Mahato, Training Coordinator, provided technical insights into the opportunities in agriculture and animal husbandry, including necessary inputs, loan availability through banks, and preparation of project proposals.

The training programme was held from 21 April 2025 to 20 June 2025 at Divyayan Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Ranchi. It included 20-day modules on dairy farming, goat rearing, and poultry farming. Participants received practical training in dairy management, fodder cultivation, disease identification and treatment; and in poultry, on broiler and layer farming, dual-purpose birds, value addition, and associated practices. Field visits were conducted to dairy farms, milk collection centers, and goat rearing units in nearby villages like Angara. Experts from NABARD and veterinary departments also shared insights on relevant government schemes.

Interaction sessions were arranged with previous successful trainees of Divyayan to inspire and guide the participants.

Brigadier Niranjan Kumar (Retd.), former Director, spoke on post-retirement opportunities for soldiers in organic farming and livestock-based enterprises, encouraging them to become self-reliant entrepreneurs.

On this occasion, certificates were distributed to 21 ex-servicemen trainees.

Present during the event were Dr. Ajit Kumar Singh, Senior Scientist of Divyayan KVK; Dr. Rajesh Kumar, Shri Sanjay Dinda, E.O.P. Sharma, Shri Gambhir Kumar Mahato, and other staff members.

The programme was anchored by Shri Prafulla Kumar (CO) and the vote of thanks was offered by Dr. Ajit Kumar Singh.
