Values Education: Jhargram, July – September 2024

Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Jhargram, West Bengal


To foster a sense of purpose and values among students in Jhargram district, Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Jhargram has been conducting a comprehensive Values Education program, “Utthista Jagrata,” for several years. This initiative aims to inspire students with the transformative teachings of Swami Vivekananda.

Between July and September 2024, the Ashrama successfully implemented “Utthista Jagrata” in one college and eight schools, reaching a total of 1935 students (745 boys and 1190 girls) and 76 teachers. Each student was presented with a complimentary copy of a book on Swami Vivekananda. Moreover, the Ashrama gifted each institution with a 2-foot laminated portrait of Swami Vivekananda and a selection of books for their library. To enhance understanding, a documentary on Swami Vivekananda’s life and message was screened for all participants.

Swami Brahmeshwarananda, visited each school and college to conduct these inspiring programs. The following institutions were included in the initiative:
