As part of its ongoing value education initiative, Ramakrishna Math, Thanjavur, organised three special sessions in May 2025 for students and teachers from different educational institutions.
15.05.2025 – Arasu Engineering College, Kumbakonam
A Values Education session was conducted for NSS students of Arasu Engineering College.
Sri Vijay Mithra, HR & Skill Development Trainer, introduced the 90:60:30 formula for a balanced life:
– 90 minutes for exercise and self-care
– 60 minutes with family
– 30 minutes for planning work
Swami Vimurtananda shared Swami Vivekananda’s IBM model – I for Intellect, B for Body, M for Mind – emphasizing the need for holistic development.
Students enthusiastically participated in the traditional Uriyadi competition. All participants received laminated portraits of Swamiji and a copy of the book ‘Vivekananda Writes to You’.
17 May 2025, Saturday – For Teachers
A rejuvenation session was held for 65 teachers from Sri Sundareswara Vidyasala Matric Higher Secondary School, Madurai, at Ramakrishna Math, Thanjavur.
Smt. Jayashree, Senior Principal of Thamarai International School, stressed the importance of fostering curiosity in students.
Following her address, Swami Vimurtananda conducted a Saraswathi Dhyanam session. Teachers gained valuable insights into evolving as impactful educators.
18 May 2025, Sunday – For Students
A Sri Sarada Devi Cultural Class was organized for 26 students from Subhiksha Hindi Tuition Centre, Kuthalam.
Dr. Kalaimagal introduced simple breathing techniques and mudras for physical and mental wellness. Swami Vimurtananda inspired students to realize their inner strengths and follow the ideals of Swami Vivekananda.
Sri Vijay Mithra shared motivational stories and offered guidance on goal-setting and perseverance.
Participants received laminated pictures of Swamiji and a book to encourage their learning journey.
29.05.2025 – Vidyavanam Girls’ Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Simmakkal, Madurai
A Values Education session was held for 320 students of Classes 10 and 12. Swami Vimurtananda addressed the students, focusing on setting meaningful life goals and striving towards them with dedication and perseverance.
30.05.2025 – Teachers’ Innovation Training Programme
A full-day training session was organised for 186 teachers from various schools in Madurai, Chozhavandan, and Tirunelveli.
The programme included a one-act play by teachers, guided meditation, group discussions, and a special address by Swami Vimurtananda. In the afternoon, young teachers shared reflections on the inspiring influence of their senior colleagues.
All participants received laminated portraits of Swamiji and a value-based book as mementos.
