Vardah Cyclone Relief in Tamil Nadu

The cyclone Vardhah made landfall in Tamil Nadu on 12 December 2016 causing damage in Chennnai and districts of Kanchipuram and Thiruvallur. In the wake of this disaster, the Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission undertook some relief measure for the affected.

1) Kanchipuram centre distributed tarpaulins to about 150 affected families in and around Kanchipuram.

2) Chennai Students’ Home centre distributed 300 kg rice, 40 kg sugar, 20 kg tamarind, 20 kg dal (lentils), 20 kg salt, 20 kg red beans, 20 kg edible oil, 5 kg chilly powder, 5 kg mustard, 2 kg turmeric powder, 200 kg vegetables, 20 sleeping mats, 20 tarpaulins to 20 affected families near seashore village of Kallur village in Tiruvallur district.
