The first phase of the Institute of Human Excellence and Social Sciences, the core structure of Viveka Tirtha centre at New Town, Kolkata, was inaugurated on 11 January 2023 by Sri Bratya Basu, Hon’ble Minister for Education, Government of West Bengal, in the august presence of Srimat Swami Smaranananda ji Maharaj, President, Ramakrishna Math & Ramakrishna Mission.
Vice-President Maharaj jis — Swami Gautamananda ji, Swami Suhitananda ji and Swami Bhajanananda ji; General Secretary Maharaj Swami Suvirananda ji; Sri Debashis Sen, Managing Director, HIDCO, Kolkata, were present in the function. Monks and brahmacharins from Belur Math and other nearby branch centres, and many devotees attended the function.
Srimat Swami Smaranananda ji Maharaj inaugurated the Yoga and Meditation Centre in the Vivekananda Auditorium building.
Swami Gautamananda ji Maharaj inaugurated the Computer Centre, and Swami Suhitananda ji Maharaj inaugurated the Book Stall within the Institute of Human Excellence and Social Sciences building.
After the inaugurations a public meeting was organized at the Vivekananda Auditorium.
