During December 2024, Ramakrishna Math, Thanjavur, undertook a series of welfare activities to support the local community:
- House Construction: A new house was built for Smt. Gomathi, a poor woman residing near the village center, replacing her dilapidated thatched hut. The construction cost amounted to Rs. 1,10,000/-.
- Clothing Distribution: A clothing distribution event was organized at the City Center, where 150 volunteers were honored and received clothing items. Special guest Sri. Kannan, Commissioner of Thanjavur Corporation, graced the occasion. The total value of clothes distributed reached Rs. 45,000/-.
- Supporting Visually Impaired Children: 172 visually impaired children enrolled in government schools in Thanjavur received tactile toys worth Rs. 10,000/-. This initiative aimed to enhance their learning and development by catering to their unique sensory needs.
- Providing Winter Relief: To assist individuals sleeping in public spaces without adequate protection from the cold weather, distributed Rs. 6,000/- worth of new blankets to 33 beneficiaries.
