Welfare Service for Women : Kalyani, January 2024

Ramakrishna Mission, Kalyani organised ‘Dwipakkhik Matri Puja’, a welfare service activity for socially and economically distressed aged women, to whom the ashrama provides groceries every month.

The activity was held on 19 November, 17 December 2023, and 21 January 2024 Sunday. A total number of 100 mothers received the welfare items in the months of November and December. And in January, 130 mothers received the seva.

The welfare service began with the chanting of holy hymns of the Narayan Suktam at the Sri Ramakrishna Prayer Hall of the Centre. Following the chanting, each mother was welcomed by Chandan Tilak and garland.

During the activity, the distribution of rice, pulses, soybean, potato, puffed rice, coconut hair oil and bathing soap (mustard oil and soap for November; tea and biscuits for January) were distributed among the mothers.

The monks, devotees and volunteers of the ashrama participated in the welfare activity.
