Ramakrishna Mission, Narottam Nagar conducted workshops on Dhrupad and Sattriya Nritya from 26 to 30 November 2025, in association with SPIC MACAY (Arunachal Chapter), SRF Foundation, and the Department of Education, Govt. of Arunachal Pradesh.
The Dhrupad sessions were led by Padma Shri Ustad Wasifuddin Dagar, accompanied by Shri Mohan Shyam Sharma on the Pakhawaj. The Sattriya Nritya training was conducted by Smt. Usha Rani Baishya, recipient of the Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar.
Students from Classes 6 to 9 participated in the workshops. The visiting artistes also gave Dhrupad and Sattriya performances at Ramakrishna Mission Narottam Nagar, Wangcha Rajkumar Government College, Government Higher Secondary School, Deomali, and nearby institutions, inspiring many students and teachers.
The programme aimed to introduce young learners to India’s classical arts and encourage positive cultural engagement.
