World Environment Day: Gurap, June 2025

Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Gurap, West Bengal


World Environment Day was observed with enthusiasm and active participation at Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Gurap on 5th June 2025.

The day began with a cleanliness drive in the morning, where the students of the Ashrama’s Gadadhar Abhyudaya Prakalpa collected and removed plastic waste from the Ashrama campus and its surrounding areas. Following this, an interactive session was conducted with the children, highlighting the importance and significance of World Environment Day.

From 11:00 a.m. onwards, the celebrations continued as a joint initiative of the Ashrama and Gurap Ramanikanta Institution. The programme featured recitations of the Swadesh Mantra, bhajans, speeches, and a tree plantation drive aimed at fostering environmental awareness and responsibility among the students.

Swami Nirantarananda, Secretary of the Ashrama, delivered a keynote address during the programme, emphasizing the spiritual and social responsibilities towards nature and sustainable living.

A total of 120 students participated in the combined programmes, making the day meaningful and impactful.
