World No Tobacco Day: Mysuru, May 2025

Ramakrishna Ashrama, Mysuru


As part of the yearlong Centenary Celebration activities of Sri Ramakrishna Ashrama, Mysuru, World No Tobacco Day was observed on 31st May 2025, at 7:00 AM, at the Ashrama premises. Around 300 students and youth from various nursing colleges participated in the event.

The programme began with a walkathon, flagged off at the entrance of the Ashrama, proceeding through the Yadavagiri area. The participants carried placards and raised awareness about the harmful effects of tobacco. Along the way, students performed mimes and skits to convey anti-tobacco messages to the public.

This impactful event was jointly organized by Sri Ramakrishna Ashrama, the Viveka Group of Hospitals, and the alumni of Sri Ramakrishna Vidyashala, Mysuru.

A key highlight of the day was the official release of the Centenary Celebration Logo, marking 100 years of the Ashrama’s selfless service.

Dr. Naren of Viveka Hospital spoke about the severe health consequences of tobacco consumption. Sri S. Balaji shared insights into the upcoming centenary events planned by the Ashrama later this year.

Swami Muktidanandaji, Adhyaksha of Sri Ramakrishna Ashrama, Mysuru, delivered a thought-provoking address on the glory of human life, emphasizing the importance of transforming addictions into a positive force for spiritual and personal growth.
