On 16 September 2023, a Youth Convention was held at Ramakrishna Math (Balaram Mandir) from 09:00 AM to 01:00 PM, where about 200 youths from nearby schools / areas participated. The objective of the convention was to propagate the ideas of Swami Vivekananda and ideals of the Ramakrishna Mission among the youths.
Revered Swami Vimalatmanandaji Maharaj, Adhyaksha, Ramakrishna Math (Yogodyan) presided over this convention. The programme had a blessed beginning with Vedic Chanting and Shanti Mantra in chorus.
The Welcome Address was delivered by Revered Swami Sarvabhutanandaji Maharaj, Adhyaksha, Ramakrishna Math (Balaram Mandir).
Thereafter, the youths participated in “Guided Meditation” led by Swami Sadghananandaji Maharaj, Ramakrishna Math (Balaram Mandir) accompanied by Sri Anupam Chakraborty and Sri Suddhashil Mandal.
Youths presented songs, recited poems, read from Swamiji’s writings and chanted Swadesh Mantra.
Swami Ekachittananda, Principal, Ramakrishna Mission Residential College, Narendrapur delivered his valuable lecture on “Self-Confidence according to Swami Vivekananda’s Teachings”.
Sri Shaktiprasad Mishra, Professor, Nivedita Chair, Ramakrishna Mission Institute of Culture, Gol Park discussed on “Character building according to Swami Vivekananda’s Teachings”.
Swami Mahaprajnananda, Principal, Ramakrishna Mission Vidyamandira, Belur Math delivered his speech on “Relevance of Swami Vivekananda as Youth Icon”.
Dr Sabujkali Sen, Ex-Vice Chancellor, VBMA Branch, Shantiniketan and Principal of Language, Ramakrishna Mission Institute of Culture, Gol Park addressed the participants on “Swami Vivekananda and His Message”.
In his benedictory speech, Revered Swami Vimalatmanandaji Maharaj addressed and motivated the youths for their better future.
The programme concluded with vote of thanks by Swami Sadghananandaji Maharaj.
Sri Gopendra Nath Chowdhury anchored the programme.
Each participant was also given a complimentary gift set containing pen, pad, folder, toffees and Swamiji’s photograph and book – “Byakttitwer Vikash”.
