Ramakrishna Mission, Kalyani organised a Youth Convention at the Sarvajanin Prarthana Hall of the Centre on the 15th August 2023, Tuesday, 3pm to 6pm.
Total 125 students of Class XI & XII from Higher Secondary Schools of Kalyani and neighbouring locations participated in the Youth Convention, which started by the chanting of Vedic Hymns, followed by the recitation of Swamiji’s Swadesh Mantra.
Songs, recitations of Swamiji’s poems were performed and the speeches were delivered by the youth who participated with a keen interest.
The Chief Guest of the convention, Swami Sevaparananda, spoke to the young audience about the idea of India and Swami Vivekananda. Â
Swami Durganathananda, Secretary of the Centre, spoke about the ideals of Swami Vivekananda and the character building of the youth. An interactive Q&A session was held.
A written question and answer session was also conducted on the subject of ‘Bharatvarsha o Swami Vivekananda’, with the youth showing an eager interest on the topic. After the question and answer session, the participants were given books on Swami Vivekananda’s life and teachings.  Â
A Certificate of Participations was also awarded to each of the participating students at the Youth Convention.
Finally, evening snacks were distributed amongst the participants.
The convention ends by singing the National Anthem by one and all.
