Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Manasadwip observed Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav and 125 Anniversary of Ramakrishna Mission at Swami Ishatananda Hall, Manasadwip on 16 & 17 July 2022. The first day was reserved for Competitions and on the second day, a Youth Convention was organized where prizes were given to successful students who took part in the Competition. The students from 11 schools of Sagar island were invited to take part in the competition. Out of the 83 students of 10 schools (boys 35, girls 48) participated.
The centre organized the youth convention on 17 July 2022 where 207 youth delegates joined including 83 participants. The theme of the convention was Swami Vivekananda’s vision of an Ideal India. Swami Suratmananda, Headmaster of Manasadwip Ramakrishna Mission High School presided over the meeting and Swami Ishteshananda, Headmaster of Ramakrishna Mission Vidyalaya, Narendrapur & Shri Ranjoy Ganguly, teacher, Purba Gurguria FP School spoke on the subject. Shri Subhabrata Paira who stood first in the elocution competition repeated his speech. Swami Stavapriyananda, Secretary delivered his welcome address and Swami Amarendrananda, Assistant Secretary of this ashrama delivered his vote of thanks. Br. Suvratachaitanya presented the closing song. Refreshment and noon Prasad were given to all who participated in this programme which includes students, teachers and parents also. A total of 15 students were awarded for the competition and participation certificates were issued to all competitors.
