As a part of the commemoration of the 125th Anniversary of the Foundation Day of Ramakrishna Mission, the Ramakrishna Mission Sevashrama, Mutthiganj, Prayagraj conducted a day long Youth Convention on 24 September 2023 in three sessions.
The convention was started with Vedic chanting by the monastic members of the ashrama and an inaugural song performed by the students of Jagat Taran Golden Jubilee School, Prayagraj. Later all the guests and Swami Akshayananda, Secretary, Ramakrishna Mission Sevashrama, Prayagraj lighted the sacred lamp. Guests and dignitaries were introduced to the audience by Swami Karunananda and the members of Vivekananda Study Circle honoured them with flower bouquets.
The topic of the first session was “How to build Self Confidence?”. Swadesh Mantra of Swami Vivekananda was read by one delegate. Thereafter five delegates from different schools and colleges rendered speeches on the topic. Dr. Ram Prakash Singh, Ex. H.O.D., Mathematics Dept., E.C.C. Prayagraj was Chair for this session and Dr. Mritunjay Rao Parmar, Asstt. Prof., English Dept., Allahabad University, was the Chief speaker, who gave a speech on the above subject. Dr. Ram Prakash Singh concluded the session.
The topic for the second session was “Swami Vivekananda’s Call to the Nation”. Students of Jwala Devi Saraswati Vidya Mandir performed the opening song. Later in the panel discussion five delegates delivered speeches on the topic. Prof. Rajlaxmi Verma Ex. H.O.D. Sanskrita Dept. Allahabad University, Chaired the session. Dr. Akhilesh Kumar Modanwal, Asstt. Professor, Chemistry Dept. Rajbahadur College, Jaunpur was Chief speaker of the session.
The post lunch session commenced with a welcome song performed by Students of D.P. Public school, Katra, Prayagraj. The subject of this session was “Goal Setting”. Prof. Manvendra Pratap Sing was the Chief Guest. Swami Akshayananda, Secretary, Ramakrishna Mission Sevashrama, Prayagraj presided over the function and Shri Raviraj Singh was the Chief Speaker of this session. Shri Raviraj Singh gave a speech on the above mentioned subject. The presidential address was given by Swami Akshayananda. In this session a Quiz Competition was conducted by Prof. Rajlaxmi Verma, Ex. H.O.D. Sanskrita Dept. Allahabad University between two schools.
More than 300 youth attended the Youth Convention programme. Breakfast, lunch, refreshments and literature of Swami Vivekananda were given to all participants. At the conclusion of the programme a vote of thanks was proposed by Swami Sarvadharananda. Sri Jaydeep Ganguli, Lecturer, English Dept., Anglo Bengali Inter College conducted the programme. The closing song of the ceremony was performed by Jagat Taran golden jubilee School, Prayagraj.
