Youth Convention: Taki, August 2022


On the occasion of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, a youth convention was organised on 10 August 2022 by Ramakrishna Mission, Taki, where 680 students participated. Few teachers, guardians & devotees were present on this occasion.

As a special guest Sri Arup Kumar Mondal, Deputy Magistrate and Deputy Collector of Basirhat sub-division, glorified the programme. Apart from Swami Parishuddhananda (Secretary) and Swami Shailasutananda (Headmaster of the High School), many students spoke on the topic “Swamiji’s contribution toward the freedom movement of India”.

Students sang patriotic songs, recited poems and demonstrated yoga apart delivering speeches.

Temple and Ashrama campus is also decorated with coloured lights.

Earlier the centre arranged competitions like Essay writing, Elocution, Yoga, Song in the High School from 15th July to 8th August 2022, where 370 students participated on the subjects “Punyabhumi Bharat and Swami Vivekananda’s Vision of an ideal India”. Prizes of the competitions was handed over to the students on 10 August 2022 by Sri Arup Kumar Mondal.

The centre also organised three youth programmes on 8 February 2022, 24 April 2022 and 9 July 2022. The theme of those programmes was “How Swamiji roused India for the struggle for Independence”.

On 15 August 2022 the centre arranged two programmes where students perform yoga, song, speech and recitation.
