Youth Development Camps: Visakhapatnam, July 2024

A Series of One-Day Camps

Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Visakhapatnam is dedicated to carrying forward the ideals of Swami Vivekananda through youth development initiatives. As part of this commitment, a series of one-day camps is being conducted from July 13th to August 10th, 2024. These camps, modeled after seminars, aim to inspire and empower college students in and around Visakhapatnam.

Curtain Raiser and Inaugural Event

A half-day orientation program was held on July 6th, 2024, to introduce the camp series to teachers, NCC Army Officers (ANOs), NSS Program Officers (POs), and other stakeholders. The event witnessed the participation of 75 individuals, including college professors, NCC and NSS representatives, and the Ashrama’s faculty.

Key highlights of the event include:

  • The release of NCC and NSS posters by dignitaries.
  • Inaugural addresses by Swami Gitasarananda and Smt. K.V. Umadevi.
  • Recognition of participants with certificates.

One-Day Camps

Three one-day camps have been conducted so far:

  • July 13th: Focused on NCC cadets, with sessions on leadership, career guidance, and yoga.
  • July 20th: Another camp for NCC cadets, featuring talks on various subjects and group discussions.
  • July 27th: A combined camp for NCC cadets and NSS volunteers, with a focus on self-development, career counseling, and yoga.

Each camp has included interactive sessions, group discussions, and practical demonstrations, aiming to provide a holistic development experience for the participants.

Partnerships

The Ashrama has collaborated with the NCC Group Headquarters and the NSS Cell of Andhra University to organize these camps, ensuring a wide reach and impact among the youth.

Future Camps

Two more one-day camps are scheduled for August, continuing the mission of inspiring and empowering the youth.
