Ramakrishna Mission Swami Vivekananda’s Ancestral House and Cultural Centre hosted a three-day workshop titled “KNOW HOW TO GROW YOUR OWN GREENS” from December 23rd to 26th, 2025. A total of sixteen children (13 boys and 3 girls) aged 10-17 participated in the engaging program.
The workshop introduced the children to the fundamentals of organic home gardening, covering essential aspects like soil preparation and seed sowing. Dr. Rajyashree Ghosh, Associate Professor of Botany at Scottish Church College, served as the chief coordinator, providing valuable guidance throughout the program. Dr. Kasinath Ghosh, Former Associate Professor, Scottish Church College, Kolkata, and Smt. Shikha Ghosh, Former Teacher, Howrah Sangha Adarsha Balika Vidyalaya, enriched the learning experience as resource persons.
The workshop aimed to instill in the young participants a love for nature and empower them with the knowledge and skills to cultivate their own gardens.
