Ramakrishna Math, Rajkot conducted its annual Vivekananda Sanskar Shibir (Summer Camp) from 3rd to 18th May 2025, specially designed for students of Standards 1 to 8. Over 300 children participated enthusiastically in the camp, which aimed at holistic development through cultural, physical, and spiritual activities.
The children took part in a wide array of engaging and educational sessions, including:
- Vedic chanting (Veda Path) and Bhagavad Gita recitation (Gita Path)
- Stories from the life of Swami Vivekananda
- Audio-visual sessions to inspire and educate
- Martial arts, self-defence training, and stick fighting
- Art and craft, painting, and several “learn-with-fun” activities
At the conclusion of the camp, each participant received a kit consisting of a notebook, sticker set, poster of Swami Vivekananda, Swadesh Mantra card, and inspirational books including Shakti Dayi Vichar, Way to Success, and Balaloke Ramakrishna.
Seminar on Effective Parenting
As part of the camp initiative, a seminar for parents titled “Effective Parenting” was held on 11th May 2025, drawing participation from around 300 parents. The seminar focused on the importance of value-based education and character-building in children.
Parents were guided on methods to cultivate good habits and moral values in their children, enabling them to grow into responsible and self-reliant citizens. At the end of the session, a set of selected books was distributed to all parent participants as a takeaway for continued learning and reflection.
