Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Divyayan Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Ranchi has launched a Special Skill Development Programme for Ex-Servicemen. Sponsored by the Directorate General Resettlement, Ministry of Defence, Government of India, this initiative is aimed at the rehabilitation and empowerment of former Army and Air Force personnel. Currently, 21 trainees are undergoing training in this programme, which commenced on 21 April 2025 and will continue until 20 June 2025.
As part of this initiative, a special workshop was held on 19 May 2025, themed:
“Strategic Digital Marketing and Artificial Intelligence (AI) & IT Applications in Small Enterprises for Rural Communities.”
The workshop was inaugurated with the blessings of Swami Bhaveshananda, Secretary of Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Ranchi. In his address, Maharaj emphasized the Mission’s significant role in nation-building through such impactful programmes.
The Chief Guest, Deputy General Manager of NABARD, Ranchi, spoke about NABARD’s support for such development-oriented programmes and assured continued assistance in the future.
Distinguished speakers included:
- Shri Manoj Ambastha, Digital Marketing Expert, FMCG Patna and former GM, BSMDCL
- Dr. Ajit Singh, Senior Scientist and former Director, Mines & Geology, Bihar
- Shri Deepak Srivastava, Former Scientific Secretary & Advisor, currently CEO, PKVS Pvt. Ltd.
The speakers elaborated on the role of advanced technologies, AI, and digital marketing in rural enterprise development. They emphasized the potential of these tools to transform rural livelihoods and promote economic self-reliance.
In addition to digital training, Divyayan KVK is offering a three-week training programme focused on dairy, poultry, and goat farming, specifically designed for ex-servicemen. The course aims to equip participants with market-driven skills and updated knowledge, including digital tools and marketing strategies to enhance sustainability and profitability.
Divyayan KVK, one of the oldest and most acclaimed KVKs in India, has been recognized nationally as the Best KVK by ICAR (Indian Council of Agricultural Research) for the years 1996–97 and 2016–17, and zonally for 2016–17. It was also honoured as the Best KVK nationally by the Outlook Group in 2019.
Through such initiatives, Divyayan KVK continues to stand with the needs of the nation, working hand in hand with farmers, rural communities, ex-servicemen, and development agencies, particularly those from the government.
